Hello! Welcome back toConsistentDistantLove! This week's letter is a day late because I was up at our family cabin this weekend, which as many of you know does not have wifi, preventing me from sending out this email. But of course, better late than never, so I hope you enjoy!
Tweets of the week
Twitter was WILD this week but was also full of negativity so here are some of the brighter moments!
This one was everywhere, but if you haven't seen it yet, I hope it makes you chuckle.
A beautiful week to be a Jepsie
I miss enjoying the company of my homies :((
The News From Hanken Drive (What’s up with Grandpa)
A few months ago, grandpa ordered some glasses from his eye doctor, but when the pandemic hit Marin, the office closed and he was never able to go pick them up. For months he did without them, and we coped by getting him large print books and keeping a magnifying glass in his living room. This week we finally got in touch with the eye doctor and I was able to go out to pick up the spectacles. On Wednesday I went over to his house and surprised him with them! He was super happy and tested them out by reading a magazine. I also went to Trader Joe’s and brought him some grocery essentials as well as some molasses cookies and cookie butter ice cream as a treat!

Music of the Moment
This song is so perfect, especially for these times of isolation. I have learned that celebrating self-love is so important for these times when we have so much less external validation from others. My favorite line is “if a cool guy’s cool in the middle of the forest nobody f*cking cares.”
This is a beautiful love song about a messy relationship, and it exposes so much raw emotion. I really recommend any song by this artist if you are looking to feel some feelings. Shout out to Keven for introducing me to this music years ago.
This song makes me want to get up and DANCE. Perfect for windows-down drives or sunny afternoons.
This song was my favorite song in my Sophomore year, and it has had a major renaissance in my life. It makes me feel like I am the main character in a perfect coming of age movie. Catch me dancing to this 24/7 in my bedroom.
Sassy Celeb of the Week: Harry Styles
Though I was never a Directioner, I LOVE Mr. Style's solo career! Both of his albums are flawless and I never skip a song. His new music video was quite something, you can watch it here. Love this unproblematic king! The above photo is my fav pic of him ever.
CRAZY GIRL CRAZY GIRL!
Some of my amazing friends have been working on a super fun original musical for the past few years, and unfortunately, the performance of it at their school had to be canceled. Luckily they recorded a podcast version that you can listen to here. I found the show darling and very impressive, I definitely recommend checking it out!
Memory Lane: A look through our cabin photo album
This red album is home to many cabin memories, mostly of Christmas past.
This is a photo from before I was born of grandpa reading my sisters and cousins.
This is from a cookie monster themed surprise party that was thrown for me (I have honestly no idea how old I was turning).

Gamer Time
This weekend we went up to our cabin to enjoy some mountain air and do some spring cleaning. My grandpa has owned the cabin since the seventies which means that there are lots of vintage things everywhere. One of our favorite games up at the cabin is the board game “Masterpiece.” Think Monopoly, but about rich art collectors (and actually fun). At the beginning of the game you choose your persona, and throughout the game you take turns bidding on famous paintings (not knowing their true value), and selling paintings to the bank one another. The game ends when the painting supply runs dry, and the winner is whoever has the most assets in both cash and artwork. I love this game because we get to pretend to be lavish characters and appreciate paintings. Unfortunately, this game is no longer made and resale versions on eBay cost several hundred dollars, but if you ever have the opportunity to play, I definitely recommend it!

Results from last week's quarantine poll!
Refer to last week's letter for the descriptions! Minty is very flattered by her popularity.
Ooh Lala!
Another collage from Layla! Each one makes me happier than the last.
My amazingly talented friend Naomi's art has been brightening my days!! She is so creative and has a wonderful artistic eye. I really recommend following her
art Instagram account for occasional doses of her work. She is also documenting her journey of painting a mural on her wall which I have become very invested in! This gal is such a rockstar!
Memorial Day!
This is a picture of Rio outside the cabin with our American flag (only 48 stars on this one due to its age we still love you Alaska and Hawaii). I hope everyone had a good long weekend and was able to find a way to celebrate.
Recipe of the Week!
If you are looking for something to bake, these vegan banana snickerdoodles are a Fogarty family favorite! I make these gf by using different flour, but you can make them either way!
