Hello everyone!! I hope you all are hanging in there. I for one have been quite overwhelmed with the weight of life recently and I am sure many of you can relate. Of course, the only way we can go is onward!
Tweets of the Week
Okay, someone please make a conspiracy video about this
I am certainly going to start doing this
Snaps to that!!
Quarantunes
Rainbow Connection by Kermit The Frog- Listen to this song when you are sad. Trust me, it helps.
La Vie En Rose (Lady Gaga Version)- I love this take on the song so much!
Just Add Water by Cavetown- This song has a message that really helps me calm down when life feels so crazy.
The Other Side by Conan Gray- I have been a long time fan of Conan and this song is one of his lesser-known tracks, but it is so darn good.
News From Hanken Drive (what's up with Grandpa)
Grandpa had a pretty average week. His Wifi connection went out so I had to go on the phone with AT&T for 45 minutes to figure out what was going on! Other than that, we had some long conversations about history and specifically which months are named after which figures.
Designated Driver Checkkkkk
Caroline, Liza, and Miranda all wanted to go winetasting and I luckily got roped in as a designated driver. This was my first time going on a wine tasting trip since I was a little kid, so it was fun to see what it was all about! We went to Dutton Estate Winery in Sebastopol. It was a little under an hour's drive up there, but it was about 20 degrees hotter than at home. We were immediately greeted by name when we arrived, which our server later revealed was due to a hidden camera that sees when guests arrive (a nice touch in my opinion). The big girls started off with some Rosé and I was given a sugar-free cherry lime drink. In the spacious garden space, we were surrounded by flowers in bloom, and the closest table was about 50 feet away. As the server brought out carafes of wine, we enjoyed a picnic lunch (snack boxes provided by the winery for the older girls, and an urban remedy salad for me). After they tried all of the wines in the tasting, they each ordered a glass of their favorite. It was fun to catch up with some of Caroline's old friends and enjoy the Sonoma Summer vibe. After it was all done I drove safely and soberly home.

A modern still life from Layla!
The ~Scone Over~
A scone over is a fabled even that stems from Caroline's friend Natalie's family scone recipe that takes over a day to make, making these the ideal sleepover baking project. Caroline and I decided to take on a scone over using a vegan earl grey blueberry scone recipe adapted from this one. We had lots of fun making these scones and they turned out pretty yummy and the novelty of a scone themed sleepover is very special (even if it is just with your sister).
Sassy Celeb of the Week: Zendaya
Zendaya has been a favorite ever since her days on Shake it Up, and she is obviously pretty much everybody's #womencrushwednesday. I recently found out that she starred in a movie that was shot completely over quarantine and I can't wait to see it!

Abby + Corn
After an accidental trip to farmland, Abby found some corn, so we took this pic. As you probably know, I hate corn, but I think Abby is great!
