Hello loves! Coming in with a brief letter to wrap up a busy week. I hope all are doing well! I am alright, but I definitely have had my fair share of emotions. Natalia left for college last week, Will left today, and Abby leaves next week. It is hard to watch some of my dearest friend leave, but I am also so proud of them, and all of you who have headed to college. For those staying home like me, I feel you! My plans for Portland were up in the air for a bit due to the fires, but as of right now it's on (knock on wood). I leave at the end of the month and will be back in November. Okay, onto the letter...
Tweet of the Week
only one tweet...
Let's all channel this energy.
Dress for Success
As the winner of the Kent Middle School Class of 2016 "Best Style" superlative, you could say I know a thing or two about fashion. But in the past few weeks, even I had let the quarantine sweat pants addiction get the best of me. This week I made an effort to start dressing up again, sporting dresses and fun accessories every day. Above is a picture of me stunting in my English class with my glamorous hat.
Crafty Claire
I made a pleated skirt, feeling cool.
The News From Hanken Drive (What's Up With Grandpa)
I was with grandpa when I heard about the passing of RBG, so I had to break the news to him. We were both sad and shocked and spent some time talking about her. Grandpa begs you to vote for Joe Biden.
This Week a Year Ago...
Y'all know I am obsessed with nostalgia, so of course, I am always looking back at what I was doing a year ago. Welcome to a possible new segment of the letter??
At this time, Layla and I had just started our joint Tik Tok account. We constantly learned new dances and would film them before rehearsal. At this time I was also getting ready to *chop* my hair, only a week left with the long locks I had for so many years.
Eislyn and I smile as we are nervously picking our AP Research topics.
I was GRINDING away at my Common App.
Sydney and I went to the Tam vs. Redwood rivalry football game. Crazy to think that that game probably won't happen this year.
The Micetro cast was a few weeks into rehearsal and quickly became very close.
Imagine hanging out with all these friends?? Inside?? NO MASKS?? Crazy.
I entered my Microsoft Paint Phase
Music of the Moment
this is me trying by Taylor Swift- I looked this song over when folklore came out, but now it is one of my favorites
Kyoto by Pheobe Bridgers- the only thing I don't like about Pheobe is that she hasn't been in my life longer.
November by Tyler the Creator- This song hits so many emotions
That's all for this week. Love you all, and keep in touch!!
xoxoxo
Claire
