Hellooooooo! Bet you probably thought there was no letter today, but don't worry it's just late. Hope you all are doing well! I have definitely been on an emotional roller coaster recently but that's life. What has helped me the most is connecting with old friends, I recommend you do the same if you have not for a while. Also, this is my last week in Marin until I head to Portland for the month of October! Reply with Oregon activity recommendations if you have any. Love you all, and on to the letter.
Tweets of the Week
LOVE THIS
My mind is 99% Taylor lyrics at this point
The funniest thing to happen in 2020 is da vinky
Farm Girl
My wonderful friend Ruby picked up her comfortable life in Ann Arbor, Michigan to work at an organic farm in rural Vermont. I admire her adventurous attitude and how she has found a way to try something new that she wouldn't normally in these crazy times. We got to catch up on the phone this week and I loved hearing about her new agricultural life. Though it is hard for her to face the cruelties of the dairy industry up close, she doing a lot of experiential learning!
Sunset Swim
I swam in the ocean for the first time since the fires!! So darn nice. Also this way my last night with Abby!
The News From Hanken Drive
Saw Grandpa several times this week, but the highlight of his week was seeing my dad play tennis. Normally my dad plays at different courts, but this week he played at the ones across the street from Grandpa's house. Grandpa designed these courts (and the whole club) so he always loves to see them be used. These are the courts Minty grew up playing on as well!
Quarantunes
The Lakes by Taylor Swift- Natalia texted me about this song this week and she had literally read my mind because I had been listening to it all day. Classic Taylor making one of the best songs a bonus.
Miley performance of Heart of Glass- this took the internet by storm this week and it simply one of the greatest things I have ever heard/seen. God bless Miley.
Barbie Dreams by Nicki Minaj- This song really really live rent-free in my head
Don't wanna by HAIM- Somehow the right vibes at the right time
Fun Cake Alert!!
True fans saw this on Claire Can Cook but I am pretty proud so I am sharing again.
Meet Teddy
This week I found out a cat (possibly stray) hangs around Annie's neighborhood and she calls it Teddy. Reminds me of one of my dad's favorite movies to watch when I was a kid, The Cat Returns. Annie has always gotten along very well with cats so of course it loves her.
That's all for this week, keep an eye out for my new podcast episode tomorrow. Love you all so much, keep in touch.
xoxoxo
Claire
